Project green

Rachael, Megan and the students beaming with pride over the new veggie garden.

Hayman Island State School has begun a sustainability project called ‘Project Green’. The students have been learning about conservation, environmental practices and sustainability. With a kind donation from Bunnings, we have been able to sow the seeds for change within our small island community. This week Megan and Rachael came to our school to donate all of the garden necessities to begin our project. The students engaged in a workshop with them and planted seedlings.  Ideally, we want the students to develop their own understanding of the web of connections that make up their community and their role in it. We are so grateful to have the support we do in such an isolated area, there are no missed opportunities at Hayman Island State School.  Thank you Bunnings!
